Villa Arika is a 4-bedroom luxury villa on an undulating and expansive 1.2 hectare piece of prime beachfront real estate, on one of Bali’s most beautifully-deserted west coast beaches, in the traditional Balinese village of Pererenan just outside Canggu.
Villa Arika is decorated in an eclectic fashion with a very tasteful mix of classic wood and marble pieces along with more contemporary rattan furniture. The cushions and silk pillows are made of fabrics from all over Asia and are in rich hues of purple and gold. The artwork has been collected by the owner the past 25 years and is from some of Indonesia most famous artists.
Come to Villa Arika prepared to indulge in serenity and peace, under a canopy of palm trees, looking across a wonderfully private stretch of beach, where you’ll have exclusive “front-row” views of some of the best sunsets in Bali.
The main living area offers a large and casual open-air retreat for relaxing and enjoying the ocean views across the pool. Adjoining the living area is an enclose-able dining room with seating for eight. On the opposite side of the main living area is a large, air-conditioned TV/entertainment room, with an enormous selection of DVDs as well as a more-than-ample library of books to enjoy.
Just past the TV/entertainment room is the downstairs main bedroom and ensuite with outdoor shower and oversized tub. Views from this bedroom are out onto the expansive, palm-studded lawn and past to the ocean. Upstairs is the master suite and bathroom. Ocean views from the second floor are even more spectacular than those downstairs, and from the east-facing window in the bedroom, Bali’s tallest and most sacred volcanic peak, Mount Agung, can often be seen peaking out from the clouds. Both bedroom suites in the main structure are air conditioned.
There are two individual sleeping pavilions which are separate from the main living structure. These air-conditioned pavilions have ocean views, ensuite bathrooms with large bathtub and an outdoor shower and private garden and are beautifully finished with wooden floors and king sized beds. Both of these pavilions also have large outdoor patio verandas with large cushioned day beds.
Outdoor amenities include a beautiful, infinity-edge swimming pool set amidst gentle rolling lawn and garden areas. A unique feature for Villa Arika is the onsite, regulation-sized tennis court with views to the mountains in the north-central part of Bali.
Location
PERERENAN CANGGU LOCATION
Villa Arika is located in Pererenan, which is a small village on the beach outside of Canggu, about 20 minutes north of Seminyak, and about half-way to Tanah Lot.
“Canggu” is widely used though to refer to a large coastal stretch of about eight kiliometres, running north from the village of Brawa (just north of Seminyak) to the village of Cemagi (just south of Tanah Lot) taking in Echo Beach, Seseh and Pererenan along the way.
The beaches in this area have dark grey or black sand and while being good for swimming, they also offer some renowned and challenging surfing spots.
There are vast areas of rice paddies with quietly undulating terrain offering expansive views of the volcanic mountains to the north and north-east and also to the south across Jimbaran Bay to Bali’s southern-most peninsula, called the Bukit.
The area is popular with many expatriates who choose to live away from the bustle of Seminyak, and also a favorite spot for sunset lovers.

Nirwana Bali Golf Club – located about 20 minutes from Villa Arika – is a visual masterpiece with dramatic ocean views and lush Balinese landscapes. The golf course was designed by Greg Norman, and offers a spectacular challenge and a world-class experience for golfers of all skill levels. Nirwana is one of the most photographed and challenging golf courses in the world, with three holes running along the cliffs of the Indian ocean and with other holes offering views of nearby, terraced rice paddies.
Canggu Club
The Canggu Club is Bali’s premier private members club and is set on a sprawling 4 hectare estate amongst the emerald rice fields of Canggu, about 10 minutes from Villa Arika. Individual and family guest passes are available for purchase at the Club, which allow Villa Arika guests to take advantage of swimming, tennis, spa treatments, and dining.
Tanah Lot
Tanah Lot (“tanah” means earth and “lot” means sea) is a very sacred Hindu temple for the Balinese, and is built on a small island rock outcropping which is about 100 meters from the main beach and which is reachable during low tides. This temple is very popular with tourists wanting to witness some of Bali’s most spectacular sunset views. The area between the parking area and the temple location includes numerous vendor stalls offering all sorts of Balinese arts and crafts and souvenirs as well as many small “warungs” (cafes) for sampling local and regional cuisines.
